Hotels and hotel-residències have one to five stars; motels, hostals and hostal-  residencies have one to three stars and pensions, having the more simple accommodation, have one or two stars.  Hotels, motels, hostals and pensions have their own restaurants available for resident and non-resident peoples.

  Hotel-residències and hostal- residencies do not serve complete meals. 

  Prices and payment

  The Spanish low asks that all the hotels show their tariffs at checking point and in all the rooms. 

  The rule is: the more stars, the higher prices. The prices are usually calculated for a room and the meals are calculated for each person. A double room in a two stars hostal can cost only 18 euro per night and in a five stars hotel it can be over 150euro per night. The prices are variable depending on area, season and the day of the week and on other things as the terrace, the view. 

  Booking and accommodation

  Barcelona hotels could be very crowded due to numerous fairs that take places the entire year. For this reason, the booking is recommended. 

  However, if you want a rental during the vacation period, no matter the area, it is recommended a vacation booking. 

 The hotels on the Costa Brava are usually closed from autumn to spring. 

  On Costa Daurada, where it is warmer, the hotels are closed only for the winter. In the crowded period is possible that they ask you for an advance payment  in a range of 20-25%. If you cancel the reservation a week or less before, it is possible that they keep the entire amount. 

  Most of the hotels keep your room up to 8 pm. If you are late, give them a call. When you make the checking they ask you your passport or ID according to police regulation. It is normal that they give you back the papers as soon as they made your registration form.
