Visiting Austria – Ideal tips
If you choose to spend your ski holiday in Austria or your summer vacation, you surely need to check out my list of the most attractive places in this country and villa collection.
1.Ice caves of Dachstein Dachstein has many attractions for tourists. Gosausee can be considered as the most beautiful lake in Salzkammergut and the winter sport lover assert that Obertraun is a place where the snow is ensured. From Schönbergalm you can visit the Ice Caves of Dachstein opened every from May to October. Archways and corridors drive the tourists inside the mountain. The attraction point of this freezing trip is the Mammuthöhle, that consists in many floor-rooms having a total high of 300 meters. In the same measure impressive is Koppenbrüllerhöhle with its fantastic ice shapes. 2.The High Alpin Road Grossglockner The Valley of Fuscher Ache, with its branches in southern side of Zell am See, next to Bruck is waste and wild, but from old times it attracted travellers that looked for a mountain passing way to south. The panoramic pick is marked by Edelweisspitze at 2577 m that offer a splendid view. The trip can be continued to Fuscher Törl at 2405 m at the region of Fuscher Lake at through Tunnel Hochtor. 3.Hofkirche Hofkirche was designed to host the grave of emperor Maximilian Ist. Maximilian was famous for his talent to mediate the imperial weddings and due to this, for having a member of his family in each royal European house. 17 years before his death, in 1502, he ordered his own grave that has to become the most impressive imperial monument in the western world. 4.Kunsthistorisches Mueum In this museum there is a huge collection of antiquities and paintings gathered by Habsburgs. Visitors can see here Egyptian, Greek, Romans collections; extraordinary curiosities from Renaissance and baroque period. An attraction point is the cave of golden salt (1540) of Benvenuto Cellini initially made for French king. You need one day only for visiting the paintings gallery at the first floor. 5.Melk Monastery The Benedictine Monastery of Melk is one of the most valuable architectural treasure of Austria. Travellers need one day to visit it. It was built in the actual shape after it was burned by Turks in 1638. It was rebuilt by Dietmayr – a master of baroque style and J.M. Rottmayr painted the frescos on the ceilings. These frescos, showing the life, the dead and Ascension of Saint Benedict, are very impressive. But the master piece of this place is the library with its 85000 books hand copied. 6.Schloss Schönbrunn Schönbrunn Palais was designed by Hildebrandt and host the museum of Austrian folklore.
