Raid examples 2 / 3 / 4 / 6 /11 days in complete autonomy:

You arrive in Nesseby in the evening and we come pick you up to drop you at your cottage where a welcome drink and
diner await you. This is where you will spend the first night of your stay.
This will be the occasion for you to try the winter gear we provide for the raid (boots, winter suits, mittens) and see if
everything fits.
6/ 11 day raids:
1st day:
Breakfast at 8am

We come pick you up at 9:30am and drive you to the dog park where we will introduce you to the dog teams.
We show you how to harness the dogs, how to position them on the sled, and how to drive the sleds. We also give you
instructions regarding what behaviour and tasks are expected of you during the raid and on every camp at night.
Please pay attention to these instructions for you will be asked to actively participate in the routine throughout the
whole raid.

Once the instructions are given, we go for a first trip (about 20km) to warm the dogs up and give you a taste of the
adventure to come.

Upon returning to Nanouak Dogsledding Norway we take the dogs away from the sleds and let them rest in their dog
houses while we have lunch.

The afternoon is free, which brings the occasion to buy last minute supplies for the resting times during the raid.
We can have dinner all together at the farm (it is possible to eat in a restaurant but your meal is payable by you) and
we then drive you back to Nesseby or you can eat at your own cottage.

During the 2, 3 and 4 day raids we leave right after the introduction to the teams and the driving instructions.
We start the raid the next day in the morning.

We load the sleds with our gear before departure and then head out to a cottage (for the 4 and 6 day raids or towards a
camp site in the mountains with a lavvo tent). We cover a distance of 25-30km on the first day.
Once at the first camp site we tether the dogs up for the night, settle ourselves in and boil water for the food of the dogs
as well as our dinner.

We wake up the next morning at 7:30-8am for breakfast (for the dogs and us). We then pack our gear and tidy the place
up, prepare the sleds and the teams.
Departure time is set around 9:30am.
And so starts the second day of our raid.
This is how things will be going every day of the raid until the last day.
On some camp sites you can give ice-fishing a try on a frozen lake!
At the end of the raid we reach Nanouak Dogsledding Norway during the afternoon.
Upon arrival we unharness the dogs, take them back to their dog houses and unload the sleds. It’s time to say goodbye
to the four-legged athletes!

We then take you back to the cottage you slept in on the first night and we have dinner together in the evening.
The next day we drive you to the bus station or to the airport.
This is the kind of dogsled raids we offer.

It will be possible during some nights of the raid to enjoy a sauna; some cottages where we will spend the night are
equipped with one, or we can use our sauna tent when sleeping under the lavvo tent.
From December until mid-February the days are really short in Finnmark but this brings greater chances to spot
northern lights. Make sure you have enough spare batteries for your headlamp
