2. Mozambique
Mozambique was named by Portuguese that colonised the country up to 1975, after the name of an Arab trader “Mossa Al Bique” that lived here.

3. Kruger National Park

5. Kilimanjaro
On October 6, 1889, Hans Meyer and Ludwig Purtscheller recorded the first ascent of Kilimanjaro (5895 m). After 125 years, in August 2014, Karl Egloff registered the fastest ascend – descend of the peak in only 6 hours and 42 minutes. If you are a high mountains lover and have a good physical condition, trekking on the Africa’s highest peak will be a nice challenge for 2016.
6. Tanzania &Zanzibar
The first European visit in Zanzibar was registered by Vasco da Gama in 1498. After Portuguese occupation and English protectorate, since 1963, Zanzibar is a semiautonomous part of Tanzania.

7. Mombasa
The exact date of Mombasa founding is not certain. It was mentioned as a thriving trading town first in 1151 by Al Idrisi, an Arab geographer. Many famous people travelled here since then.
One of them is the Danish writer Baroness Karen von Blixen-Finecke. Her book “Out of Africa” was screened by Sydney Pollack in 1985, starring Meryl Streep and Robert Redford. Step on their footprint in 2016 to see why the novel characters were so bound of these lands.

8. Victoria Falls
It is believed that the biggest and most spectacular water falls in the world, Victoria Falls situated in Zimbabwe and Zambia, was first seen by an European in 1855. David Livingstone a Scottish explorer and missionary gave its name after Queen Victoria.
The water fall can be seen both from Zimbabwe and Zambia.
