TREK 1:
Kilimanjaro Climb Machame Route 7 Days Itinerary

Day 0: Arrival day in Moshi by flight through Kilimanjaro International Airport.

We will be waiting for you at the airport or anywhere else agreed. Briefing will be done by your trekking guides in your hotel after arrival.

Day 1: Machame Gate to Machame Camp (Full Board)
The climb starts from Machame gate (1830 meters)  to Machame Hut (3,000 meters): It takes 6-7 hours walking.

Day 2: Machame Camp to Shira Camp
Climbing Kilimanjaro tours from Machame Hut to Shira Camp (3,840m): 4-6 hours walking.

Day 3: Shira Camp to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp
The distance is 10 kilometers, climbing time 6.5 to 8 hours.

Day 4: Barafu Camp to Karanga Camp
Barafu Camp to Karanga Camp covers 5 kilometers and it takes up to 5 hours to get at the camping site.

Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
From Karanga Camping area to Barafu Camp site 4.6 kilometers and 4-5 hours on walking.

Day 6:  Barafu Camp to Summit then to Mweka Hut.
We will wake up in the midnight together with you (head lamps are mostly helpful for this hike). Barafu Camp to Summit to Mweka Hut elevation (15,300ft to 19,345ft and down to 10,000ft). Distance is 5 kilometers ascending / 12 kilometers descending, climbing duration: 7-8 hours ascending / 4-6 hours descending.

Day 7: Mweka Hut to Mweka Gate to Moshi in your personal hotel to proceed with other timetable. Itinerary : Mount Kilimanjaro trekking-7 days Lemosho
Day 0 – Arrival in Moshi
You are met on arrival at Kilimanjaro International airport and transferred to the Hotel in Moshi. We shall meet for equipments check and climb briefing. If arrival is late evening, the briefing is held the next morning .Overnight at your Hotel on bed and breakfast basis.

Day 1 – Moshi to National Park Gate (approximately 2½ hours) Climb to Shira One Camp.
A long day of walking that begins from Londorossi National Park gate (2,250 m). We walk through farmland and plantations and continue climbing steadily on a broad track through shrub forest and stands of giant heather to reach the rim of Shira Plateau (3,350 m). A first camp is in the center of the plateau at “Shira One” (3,550 m) (6-8 hours walking) overnight on the mountain on a full board basis.

Day 2 – Climb to Shira Hut Camp
An easy day to help acclimatization, with time to explore the grassy moorland and volcanic rock formations of the plateau. We walk to the summit of Shira Cathedral (3,750 m), and the views from our camp near Shira Hut (3,840 m) (4-5 hours walking)Overnight on the mountain on a full board basis.

Day 3 – Climb to Moir Hut Camp
The excursion can be either a steady climb to reach the ridge above Moir Hut (4,200 m.) or a more strenuous walk to reach the summit of the Lent Hills (4,700 m). The remainder of the day is free to rest and enjoy our peaceful campsite. (4-8 hours walking) Overnight on the mountain on a full board basis.

Day 4 – Climb to Barranco Camp
A morning of gentle ascent and panoramic views, leaving the moorland plateau behind to walk on lava ridges beneath the glaciers of the Western Breach. After lunch near the Lava Tower junction, (4,550 m.) we descend to the bottom of the Great Barranco Valley (3,900 m.), sheltered by towering cliffs. Here there are extensive views of the plains far below. (5-7 hours walking) Overnight on the mountain on a full board basis.

Day 5 – Climb to Barafu Camp
Lunch is usually taken at Karanga, the last water point, in a steep valley. After lunch, the terrain changes to scree and we climb steeply to reach the Barafu campsite (4,600 m.) by mid afternoon. The remainder of the day is spent resting in preparation for the final ascent before a very early night. (6-8 hours walking) overnight on the mountain on a full board basis.

Day 6 – Summit Day!
Then descend to Mweka Forest Camp
Day 7 – Descend to National Park Gate – Moshi
A sustained descent through lovely forest with lush undergrowth takes us to the National Park gate at Mweka (1,650 m.) (4-6 hours walking). When we finish the climb, there will be a vehicle waiting to meet you and transfer you back to Moshi. You can choose to have a safari/day tour/Zanzibar beaches after completing your Lemosho route 7 days.

Day 2 : Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut
You leave the glades of the rainforest and follow an ascending path on the open moorlands to the Horombo encampment. Views of Mawenzi and the summit of Kibo are amazing. Look for giant lobelias and grounsels. You may begin to feel the effects of the altitude. 9,000 ft / 2,700 m to 12,100 ft / 3,700 m | 11 km | 6-8 hours
Day 3 : Horombo Hut | Visiting: Kilimanjaro. Rest day at Horombo Hut with optional hike by Mawenzi Peak.
Day 4 : Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut | Climbing: Kilimanjaro
Ascending, we now pass the last watering point, walking onto the saddle of Kilimanjaro between the peaks of Kibo and Mawenzi. Vegetation begins with upper heathland but then disappears into “moonscape”. Day 5 : Kibo Camp to Summit then Horombo Hut | Climbing: Kilimanjaro
Early in the morning (midnight to 2am), commence the climb to the summit on steep and heavy scree or snow up to Gilman’s point located on the crater rim. Continuing, we now ascend to Uhuru Peak. From here we descend, stopping for lunch and a rest at Kibo before continuing on to the Horombo encampment.
The beginning of this climb is done in the dark and requires headlamps or flashlights. It will be very cold until you start descending, so you will need all of your warm layers. This is by far the most difficult part of the trek with many switchbacks. Day 6 : Horombo Hut to Moshi
After breakfast, a steady descent takes us down through moorland to the Mandara Hut. Continue descending through lush forest path to the National Park gate at Marangu. At lower elevations, it can be wet and muddy. Gaiters and trekking poles will help. Shorts and t-shirts will probably be plenty to wear (keep rain gear and warmer clothing handy). Our driver will meet you at Marangu village/gate and  drive you back to your hotel in Moshi.

6 Days Umbwe Route (FOR EXPERIENCED TREKKERS)

Day to Day Itinerary for 6 Days Umbwe Route
Day 1:
Umbwe gate to Umbwe cave, from the 2,100m the path begins.
The route takes you to the fast camp Umbwe cave. (Bivouac I at 2,940m) in 4-6hrs

Day 2:
Umbwe cave to Barranco, keep ascent through steep and scramble rock across rain forest to moorland, which may take 4-5hrs to reach Bivouac II at 3,780m. After 1hr walk you will reach to 3,900m and you will see the end of tree line. The path proceed cairn to the southern glacier branches right contouring into Baranco situated at 4,000m, 2hrs from Bivouc II

Day 3:
Barranco acclimatization, this is a good place to rest a day to acclimatize. You may spend your day at camp and snooze in the sun all day. If you are feeling fit you may walk to high altitude and come down to relax in low altitude this will help you to get acclimatized.

Day 4:
Barranco to Arrow glacier, the route to the Western Breach from the tree lines and then continues up to Umbwe ridge, which becomes the Western. Lateral Moraine of the peak and the routes goes straight towards the Western Breach and then reach to the Arrow glacier, which is situated at 4,800m.

Day 5:
To ascent to the summit on this day you may involve between 10½ or 14½hrs. Usually you start this day’s walking early in the morning for the idea to see sun rise and also to avoid the mist, screen and snow on the ascent will still be frozen. So after 3km walk and 6-8hrs in 110m of ascent you will reach the top and descent through Barafu in 2,800m for 4-7hrs of walking in 12km, you will reach the Mweka hut.

Day 6:
After breakfast descend steeply through the forest on a narrow path in 10km of walking and 3-4hrd to reach the Mweka gate after 1400m of descent. Depart for your next destination, which is optional.

8 Days Shira Route Itinerary
Day 1: Forest Camp.
After breakfast we’ll drive to the western side of Mount Kilimanjaro where you will sign in at the Londorosi Gate and get your climbing permit. From there we’ll drive to Lemosho trailhead where we’ll meet our expedition staff. We will hike for 3-4 hours before reaching Forest Camp (9,200 feet, 2804 meters). As the name suggest the camp is located in a dense temperate forest zone on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 2: Shira Camp (11,500 ft, 3505 meters).
We’ll leave camp just after breakfast and ascend to Shira Camp which is located at the heather zone along the Shira Caldera. We will hike for 2-3 hours before we get out of the forest zone. We’ll press ahead into the heather zone (sub alpine), where we’ll stop for lunch. We will continue trekking, traversing the Shira Ridge and camp in the Shira Caldera with its dramatic views of Kibo peak. 6-7 hours walk today. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 3: Moir Camp (13,800 ft, 4206 meters).
Today we’ll hike for about 4 hours across the Shira Caldera towards the Western side of the Kibo Volcanic Massif. Camping at the Moir Camp is a wonderful experience! We’ll have panoramic views over the Rift Valley and into the heart of Africa. Moir Camp is located at the transition zone between the heather and Moorland, the only place we’ll see the higher altitude plants like the Giant Ground Sells and Lobelia. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 4: Barranco Camp (13,200 ft, 4023 meters).
Today is an acclimatization day. We will hike to an elevation of 15,000 feet before descending to our camp. The hiking time is between 6-8 hours. We will pass by Lava Tower and enter the alpine zone. We’ll move slow today and work on acclimatization.(Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 5: Barafu Camp (15,100 ft, 4602 meters).
We continue hiking through rolling hills as we gradually approach Barafu. The hiking will take between 2-3 hours. (Breakfast, Lunch Dinner and accommodation will be at Barafu Camp)

Day 6: Crater (18,500 ft, 5638 meters).
We’ll leave early in the morning as we gradually ascend to Crater Camp elevated at 18,500 feet. The hike is challenging today. We’ll reach our high point of the day, Stella Point (19,000 feet), before descending to Crater Camp for dinner. Overnight Crater Camp. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 7: Summit Day (19,340 ft, 5894 meters).
We will begin our ascent early to Uhuru Peak. After 2-3 hours of hiking we will be standing on top of the highest free standing mountain in the world, 19,340 feet above the sea level. We’ll spend as much time as possible on the Roof of Africa taking pictures and enjoying the incredible views. From the summit we’ll descend for 2-3 hrs and after a short stop for lunch around Barafu Camp (15,100 feet) descend for 3-4 hrs and to Mweka Camp where we will have a victory celebration and spend our last night on Kilimanjaro. Total hiking time 10-12 hours. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 8: Exit via Mweka Gate. After a much needed rest we’ll descend for 3-4 hours to Mweka Gate. We’ll bid a sad goodbye to our trekking crew and transfer back to the Hotel for warm showers, relaxation, and more celebrating. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
