Elephants are considered a keystone species due to the great impact on the environment in the areas where they live.
The two species: African Elephant and Asian Elephant live in many types of habitats. As long as the African Elephant live from savannah to desert and from sea level to mountain area, the Asian one, like areas with grass, low woody plants and small trees. Both of them prefer the water vicinity.

-Periyar protected area and nature reserve of over 700 sq km situated in Kerala in South India. This place hosts a huge number of Tuskers. The best way to explore the area is from a boat ride.
–Kabini Forest situated in Nagarhole National Park, about 69 km from Mysore is a place with water bodies and forest lands where heard of wild elephants can be seen.
– Chandaka Elephant Sanctuary, Bhubaneshwar in the state of Orissa is a bamboo and kochila trees area with arranged places to watch the groups of wild elephants taking bath playing with wild birds.
– Sahakari Spice Farm in Goa is a place where tourists can see tamed elephants and enjoy a moment of fun with them.
Looking them splashing water while take bath or scratching each other is a nice and relaxing experience.
Additionally you must have in view that Goa is a good destination for surf and sandy beaches.
