Timiș County is located in western Romania. It is the largest county in Romania in size. It is located at the Romanian border with Hungary and Serbia and the influences of these countries are present in the local culture.

The county seat of Timiș County is the city of Timișoara, which is a strong cultural center with many first runs in its history. We just mention a few:

Another resort with thermal waters located in Timiș County is Calacea Baths. It is located in an impressive park with trees and a lake with white lilies.

In Lugoj, you can stop to visit the Museum of History, Ethnography and Fine Arts. Here you can see archaeological, ethnographic, memorial, fine art and history collections, as well as historical documents and objects collected throughout the county of Timiș.
History passionate can go to Sânnicolau Mare to visit the city museum housed in Nako Castle which was owned by Count Nako Kálmán.

Grot from Românești is one of the most famous caves in Timiș County. It spans on three levels, and not all rooms are accessible to the public. In the cave there is a room special for its acoustics where various musical performances have been organized since 1984.
In the area there is also the Blue Cave, famous for the blue color of its rocks that dominate inside. It is fully open to visitors.

The Ornithological Nature Reserve Satchinez Marshes is the most beautiful natural protected area of the county, called “Delta of Banat “. On the 122 hectares, it includes five ponds where from April to September bird lovers can see stilt, heron and egret, species protected by law.
At Bătești there is another natural reserve of meadow with daffodil, which is approximately 20 hectares in size.
