Winter in Dominican Republic

Some other good places to visit are the Museo Bellapart, Palace of Fine Arts, Museo de las Casas Reales, Museum of Modern Art, Monasterio de San Francisco and the Fortaleza Ozama.

Some of its main attractions are the coral reefs, sea turtles, dolphins, manatees, doves, rhinoceros, etc. Another perfect place for people who love wildlife is the Samana Peninsula and bay. It is a haven for a large number of birds and aquatic animals. The humpback whales migrate into this area in the months of January and February. The Parque Nacional los Haitises is also situated in this area. Another place worth seeing in this area is the Cueva Del Angel, a cave full of birds and ancient pictograms.

Situated on the south east area, La Romana and its imitation of an artisans’ village, Altos de Chavon is famous for craft, and a good place to shop.
